Excitement was in the air as Kasey, Kaitlyn and Kate (now known as the 3 Ks) packed up their horses and strappers and headed to Maryborough Equestrian Centre for the PCQ State Championships.
The facilities there are fantastic with about 150 stables, multiple sand arenas, camp draft arenas, an indoor arena and a cross country course. After settling horses in it was time to find our Zone 26 camp ground – about a kilometre away! Thank goodness for trolleys and good company – we walked an average of 15km each day to and from stables and events.
All the Ks rode with a positive and professional attitude with great results:
Dressage
Kaitlyn (11 & U13): Round 1 – 7th; Round 2 – 3rd; Round 3 – 4th; Overall – 3rd
Kate (Prelim): Round 1 – 16th; Round 2 – 5th; Round 3 – 10th; Overall 9th
Kasey (Novice): Round 1 – 15th; Round 2 – 18th; Round 3 – 10th; Overall – 15th

Zone 26 supported each other so well and created a real team spirit. They can also claim honours for being the loudest and proudest during presentation with Indian war cries and Mexican waves! A big achievement and lots of fun. Well done.
Later in the year will be the Sporting and Formal Gymkhana State Championships and I’m pretty sure we will have a few representitives there too.
